“This really is first class fusion. Bassist Andrew Vogt and his band would give Snarky Puppy a real run for their money…why Vogt and his band haven’t yet been eagerly snapped up by a record company is mystifying since the music they produce is just brilliant.”

-Roger Farbey (All About Jazz)

In 2014 I released my first record as a producer/primary composer under the group “The Humble Organisms,” and in 2016 I put out my first EP as a bandleader entitled
“For Free.” My most recent album, “The AV Club” came out in 2017. All of these independent releases have enjoyed great success and acclaim from writers :

2014: “Humble Beginnings”

“Rock energy, soulful grooves, a tasty guitar that rips into the shredding category quite often…”
-Dan McClenaghan (AAJ)

While living in the Chicagoland area for most of my life, I have had the pleasure to perform with countless incredible Chicago musicians (including The Chicago Yestet, Chris Madsen’s Kings of the Lobby, Pocket Radio Bonzo Squad and The Xavier Breaker Coalition) as well as many fantastic touring groups. In 2013 and 2014, I had the privleage to play alongside the legendary Ernie Watts at the Jazz Showcase, and in 2016 I was fortunate enough to perform with Donny McCaslin. I also sat in and played “I Wish” with Stevie Wonder’s long-time bassist and bandleader, Nate Watts. I have played most of Chicago’s most iconic stages, including the Green Mill, Double Door, Lincoln Hall, Reggie’s, Schuba’s, Andy’s and Grant Park for Chicago Jazz Fest. You can catch me every Monday Night at Andy’s for the Trumpet Summit, every Wednesday at the Arrogant Frog with Bonzo Squad, every Thursday night at Old Crow Smokehouse with Rendition and every other night you’ll have to check my calendar…I tend to be all over the place!
